I have a 98 tourer and I need to replace the lower fork shaft!  It is connected to the axle yoke and I have a replacement lower shaft but the axle yoke is bad.  Is it possible to remove the bent shaft from the good yoke and put that yoke on the good shaft!  If possible, how?  Thanks!

If you dismantle the fork, there is a hole through the spring tube, put a pin there to hold it, apply some hear to the aluminum lower part, and it should unscrew. Right hand threads. You do not need to get it real hot, just a propane torch, or even a heat gun will be enough.
