« on: October 13, 2011, 12:35:46 AM »

BACKGROUND:
I asked this question last week and received one very nice response & photo.... Thank you! cooldude
I cannot afford the goin' price for the "real thing;" the Valkyrie Tubular Rack, that is...  Sad
So, I'll have to settle for one that could be modified to "feed" the Dragon. Embarrassed

I believe that this one on eBay with few alterations might fit: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-VT750C-Shadow-AERO-VT-750-C-NEW-Chrome-SOLO-RACK-/370541198650?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5645f9fd3a

QUESTION:
Has anyone installed a non-Valkyrie-Rack like the one shown above... or similar? What Honda Model Rack would be easiest to modify?
What specific alterations would be necessary to retrofit it to the Fat Lady? Undecided

Thanks.

Smokinjoe-
Wow, that's a beautiful machine... I'm droolin' all over my key pad...  2funny

Those racks do look beautiful. I wonder whether your contact has made any for the Valks" rear fender.

Notwithstanding. I'm sure I've read here 'bout someone who did it the way I'm thinking it would be less expensive. ???

I'm hoping that he will see this post and reply. Sad

Keep'em coming. Thanks! cooldude

Check with VRCC member ( Reb ) I'm pretty sure he used a Yamaha rear fender rack and had to do a mod on it to make it fit....He's got a nice Valkyrie and again I'm pretty sure he used Yamaha racks for both saddlebags and rear fender.

Joe, you may be getting worn out for all the responses on those racks. Please PM me the info on the fender rack and thanks in advance. It looks great.
Is he making the Air Wings deflectors also?
Thanks again, John

I tried a solo rack for a 750 shadow.  Will not work without cutting and rewelding.  But I was told that a company makes another for a Shadow 750 thatg is a universal. The Rear tab is not welded on.  I heard it can be bent and made to use. Or a second rear tab  can be made and bolted on.
