That's why I never had any desire to see them live. It's musical masturbation. I'd rather hear songs. Even the Allmans put me to sleep when they go on a jam tangent.

I had a chance meeting with J Garcia back in 1989 on our way to Bethel NY. Then ran into him later that evening during the "Guns and Roses" set. We shared a doobie and laughed about our "chance in time meeting".
The Grateful Dead were the last band to play at Woodstock 89.

i saw them live at alpine valley, wis., must have been in '82 or so.  but i'm ageeing with anvel as far as songs going on forever....was boring then is even more boring for me now.  interesting concert to say the least but the people around me were the most entertaining.   Cheesy

yup .... pretty laid back music - saw them a couple times, first time don't remember much.
when ever I go fishing, I always having some "Dead" playing .... pretty relaxing and seem to catch more fish  Smiley Smiley
