My brother had an MRI last Thursday and they got the results today.  He’s been having some blurry vision, seen several optometrists and they all say his vision is perfect, but one told him to see a neurologist.  He did, and they did an MRI of his head and apparently found something.  what’s next I don’t know, but what I do know is that this is the kind of crap that really makes for a lousy winter.

Went through the same thing a couple months ago, Mri etc, etc. Found I had a stroke that affected my vision, lucky, drugs cleared it up.  Have faith, they can do a lot now days, we will keep him in our prayers.

I have had them tell me to bring some one with me multiple times with out much explanation....Most of the time it was because the wanted to use a sedative if further tests required it and mostly because they planed tests that would piss me off and they would knock me out so I'd shut up! Either way they require you to have a sober (non sedated) driver.  Wink

It would piss me off if they told me that without telling me why. crap's like my ex telling me on the phone "we need to talk".

They have many B.S. excuses in their Dr. book that they will use...Kinda like the Ex !  Cheesy

once they told me I needed a driver because I may fall asleep in the cat scan and be groggy after waking up. Said it was policy.

i was talking with my other brother and he reminded me that they'll ask you to bring your wife for any procedure, case in point, like when i got my vasectomy!!  Grin

just trying to make light of the situation.

grumpy, i do thank you for giving me another option to consider.  my brother is a "high stress" type of person, he might have had a stroke, that would be better then a tumor.

believe it or not, my brother (mike) was worried that he might have glaucoma!  as a worse case scenario.

since it's his vision, could be dilating  his eyes, don't want to drive like that. Smiley

I understand. When they found my brain tumor, they called me at school, said "Come to the ER now, bring your wife and some clothes". Comforting indeed. tickedoff

that's kinda what they told my brother.  but if it were really an emergancy i would think that they would have him come to the hospital right away and insisted that it was important, but instead the doctor told him to make an appointment with his secretary for the first opening which is this coming wednesday.  "?"

WTF they scare the crap out of him, say to bring his wife and put it off for 5 days?  Can't the doc get on the phone and either say your exam is abnormal and this is what we will do. Or come in tomorrow and let's make a game plan.

Hope it all works out for your brother, Alph.

Hope alls well in the outcome for your brother.
I did a walking stress test once and they said they wanted to do a cardio catheter and have a look around. I asked when, NOW!!!. H/S! Lemme go get my wife and a shower. I did. When we got back they had my folder on the table, I went straight to the prep room and was groggy within 20 minutes of getting back. Everything turned out OK but it was really scary.
I dont think they teach bedside manner anymore.
