1 on the right side. Look in shop talk under Sgtt. Joe's oil change instructions.  Kinda odd but simple instructions.

Do the coolant while you are at it.  The Valk is one of the easiest bikes to service that I have owned.

don't forget fresh clutch and brake fluid too....makes a world of difference and definitely a safety issue.

All good info for a new guy.
from what i have poked around with my fat girl the swing arm back isn't
much different than dealing with my "X". why so much caution with loosening the final drive (4) bolts to line the splines.  its it different than taking the final drive out of the "X"thats
    pretty straight forward

guess what i am asking if i don't have any trouble with the "X" final drive i shouldn't have any with the valk right ?

The Valkyrie final is different from the VTX,  alignment is more sensitive because the flange kinda floats it has no bearing in it like the "X" did.  This subject (the four bolts) has been covered many times in here, I agree with your hypothises that in theory you shouldnt have to mess with the four bolts unless you are removing the final drive.  However, those of us that have been around these things long enough have either learned the hard way or know someone that has.  Loosen the bolts if you are not removing the drive.  But bigger yet, unless its a flat repair or some other reason to remove the wheel shortly after a grease job....remove the drive and inspect/grease the drive shaft and pinion cup every time the wheel comes off

so it is a bit more involved than an "X"  i will need to learn all is stuff . I will have lots of new guys questions.
got the new front tire on, and Dyan beaded up, windshield cut down, fluids checked and changed, looked for lose things, got seafoam in my first tank of gas.
i am going to take her for a short ride tonight just to feel her run cooldude
