Just got back from taking Dag to Newark airport over in NJ

That is normally a 60 mile - 1 hr ride the way I go and thats what it took me the 4 legs over the last 24 hours   uglystupid2

From what we heard there was a shooting and some road was closed, there was some ugly accidents apparently (plus Dag did NOT use the map directions I gave him and instead was misled by the GPS) and  a perfect storm of traffic that has not happened before happened for our friend

Prayers were answered and he got a free upgrade to business class on his 7.5 hr flight today
also will be disputing the avis bill but no tow or other damage charges
He got to ride today from 10am to 2pm around the Hudson Valley

So all in all we got lemonaide out of a lemon

Today we went past the Dam on 129 to 100 north and at croton falls we turned north onto the road that splits the reservoirs  We got a couple of short movies of each of us crossing the causeway  cooldude

Then continued north to Carmel and picked up 301 which was pristine, peak colors and we were all alone the whole 18 miles across to Fahnstock Park and Cold Spring
A gas stop and then down to the river, north on 9D to go thru the tunnel sounding the horns of course
then up 9 to 84 across 84 to the Taconic and a wonderful ride down the Taconic averaging 75 on the sweepers till the Ossining exit  Dag loved the police bike and was always right on my six.

Lunch here at home then left at 3 for the airport which took 1 hr like it should

It was my great pleasure to meet Dag and spend time talking with him and of course sharing the wind with a VRCC brother.

I have said many times that this club has enriched my life (as has the VOAi) in ways I could not imagine before purchasing my Valkyries

If you have never either been given lodging by a member or extended yourself to show either a ride or a great nite sleep to a member I urge you to do so  You will be the better for it

Thank you to Don and Tracy, Charliemac, and of course Gig who have opened their doors to this Yankee
and all those who have either stayed here or just ridden with me I have enjoyed every smile and every mile
