« on: October 17, 2011, 08:23:22 PM »

I'll begin by saying I'm relatively new to riding .... third season for me.
The "Valkyrie" came to me kind of by accident as I was not looking for a bike. I'm in the HVAC industry and work for myself. The bike came as payment for a job I did for a guy that had two of them ..... this and an "Interstate". The selling of my bike will cover the materials which means I get the "Valk" for three days labour. I wasn't going to keep it as I was plenty happy with what I had. In fact, the "Valkyrie" sat in the in my garage for a little better than three weeks before I decided to ride it. Riding it came on the advice of a "GW" rider (from another forum)that thought I was nuts for wanting to get rid of it. He said "go for a 5 - 6 hr ride, then come back and tell us you want to sell it". Well, here I am a couple months later finally introducing myself as I have been lurking for that time as well. I'm glad I didn't sell it!! It's a 98' that had 34,000 kms \ 21,000 miles on it and now it has 39,000 kms \ 24,000 miles on it two months later. I can't believe what things cost for this bike as opposed to the "Volusia" Shocked ! I did get the "Ultimate" Seat set for it slightly used but in excellent condition, so I'm happy about that.

My 1st bike was An 02' Suzuki Volusia! My pride and joy really. I'm kinda dreading tomorrow as I am to receive a deposit from what appears to be a serious buyer. Tomorrow will tell.

I wish I could make some sense out of keeping it .... but, sadly, I can't!  Sad

You don't have to put Interstate in quotations, we're quite familiar with it.  Wink

Just breaking balls. Congratulations (on the Valk) condolences (on having to part with the Volusia) and welcome to the forum.

Fortunately it is a legal addiction! But you're right, it can be an expensive one! Shocked

I tried to edit the first post by reducing the size of the picture. Funny it shows up at my end.
Thanks to all of you for the reassurance on the Valkyrie.
My buyer backed out today for the "Vol" and I'm happy about it. Now I will take off the goodies to sell individually and sell the bike as I bought it.

Let me know if the picture of the Valkyrie Is now visible.  THX!

T-man... are you using Photobucket or another free hosting service.  If not... put the pics on Photobucket.com and just copy and paste here.  (click on bottom box that opens when you run your cursor across the pic in Photobucket)

It's not the size of the pic.  It points to a site that requires a sign in.  You can see it because you're signed in.  Those who aren't signed in can't see it.

I'll try this again. Both pictures are on the same site and have been posted on the site I frequent for the Volusia.  Why it's not working here I'm not sure. So here it is again. By the way, I use "Windows Live" for posting all my pictures.

This is from yesterday with the new seat on.

Again, I can see it. Let me know. THX!

Hi and welcome to the forum. There are a bunch of good people here with extensive knowledge of the Valkyrie if you need any tech help (not me) and a lot of humor here too and interesting reads. The people that  compared the Valkyrie to a drug or an addiction is right on. I have another nice bike that I haven't rode in about a month because of my dang addiction- like cocaine or heroin!! 2funny 2funny crazy2
