Here's the microfiche...

Is there a bolt that belongs on top of part # 26 ??  Or is it just an alignment tab?

The rod at the bottom of part # 21 is threaded... and I don't see anything holding part #s 12 and 26 from falling off.

Just went out and looked at mine and 26 looks like a nut that screws onto9 a threaded stud or bolt.

Hmmm... I'll have to check closer.  I didn't notice if # 26 is threaded or not.

No nut on my 99 Std either.

Well... this makes me feel better.  2 people without a nut and a microfiche that doesn't show a nut.  Sounds like it's just an alignment tab with a bolt only holding the top of the radiator.

Those are sleeves that ride on the threaded stud that extends from part #21.

To remove the radiator, drain the coolant, disconnect all hoses.

Remove bolt #40, tilt the radiator slightly forward and slide to the right as you face the bike, and it's off.

You'll probably need to remove the tank, or at least loosen and raise the front of it, then remove the neck side cover on the radiator cap side to get the hoses off on that side.

With the radiator off, it's a good time to service the "buzz bolt" that runs from side to side between the down tubes.  Instead of trying to tighten the snot out of it, I think it's better to remove it, pump some silicone caulk in the tube it passes through, and tighten it back up.

Ahhh...  that makes sense.  I just checked the manual and it says the same thing.

Remove one bolt, tilt forward, slide radiator to the right.  That means no bolt there.

Thanks guys!!   cooldude cooldude
