Rebels that long ago would have been wiped out were it not for US air power. So Obama facilitated it. And I still don't like it. This was not our fight. If Europe was worried about Libya then Europe should have handled it. |

Dealing with Dictators is a hard thing to do.
I will certainly admit that Quadaffi or however we are spelling that name, was a ruthless dictator. Evil as they come. Crazy as hell.
But the country was fairly stable. As miserable as it was, what does the future hold for Libya?
Perpetual civil war in a tribal hell?
If we make the argument that Pres. Obama should get some kind of credit for the killing of Quadaffi, then we, the United States becomes responsible for the aftermath.
Personally, I think we just traded one dictator for a whole bunch of' 'em and the country will be far worse off at least for the foreseeable future. In the end, another dictator will rise and gain control and the cycle will start anew.
I'd give all the credit to the French.

Before we become too happy about the results in Lybia, look at what a cesspool Egypt has become since that country was destabilized. Be careful what you wish for!
Lybia was a European fight strictly having to do with the Oil reserves there, and Europe needing/wanting them. We should have stood on the sidelines and let people fight their own Civil war.
