Some congressmen were on a "publicity" tour during WW2. They had a meeting scheduled in the field with Gen George Patton. On that particular day it was near blizzard conditions so the congressmen were sitting in a large tent gathered around a potbellied stove for warmth. Patton walked in out of the storm and one of them said "George you look like you've been through Hell." Patton replied "Indeed, I feel as though I have." One congressman chuckled and said "Tell us, General, what did you find in Hell?" Patton said "A lot like it is here, politicians are all closest to the fire."
