another carb question
«

Hi, I go another question, the fuel rail linkages and the air linkages that connect the carbs together (and where the main fuel line connects) feel incredibly loose. they are so loose you can twist them with no effort at all and they move side to side really easily
I guess my question is, can that be right? I never worked on anything with more than one carburetor before but it just seems weird.
Another question, if anyone has used the redeye replacement o rings, the float o rings look very different (much smaller), just wondering if I should keep the oem one in there are replace it with this one
thanks again

To answer the first question: The tubes are O-ring sealed at the ends so, they can surely turn, although I wouldn't recommend doing so for fear of causing them to leak.
Secondly, because of the relationship of the carburetors to each other, there will necessarily be some free space between the components to allow for alignment. Again, testing out this looseness could cause damage to the seals and subsequent leaking.
There have been many post on this forum that will answer you last question, and this answer is:
(paraphrase) "fix it til it's broke"
If there is nothing wrong, the best course of action is to leave it alone. There are no available improvements in this area on the Valkyrie that you can make and replacement parts for the Valkyrie carburetors are expensive.

I rebuilt my flat girl with redeye O rings and gaskets...also used factory pro jet kit. I have had no problems.
