Hi, me again, I'm sorry to have so many questions, but I'm brand new at this  ???

My question is, would it be a bad idea to leave the air tubes in place and just seal the ends up where they tie into the reed valves (pair? valves).  It seems simpler and less obvious that a mod had been done but, I'm not sure if there is a reason not to, or how much exhaust pressure is running through the tubes

thanks again, appreciate this site, its really helping me out  Grin

I removed mine.  It was that difficult and it did clean up the look.  I say remove them but the choice is yours.

The best de-smog article can be found on shop-talk or the archives.. It was written by our very own Normand [Quexpress]..

Just as long as you cap the vacuum barbs which are on the backside of the intake risers you will have no problem.

There is little to none, exhaust pressure, existent at the ports that as a rule are blocked off when doing the desmog.

Same thing if you decide to leave the reed apparatus mounted on the motor.

California bikes are a little more complicated but the same rules apply.
