If the USB port went out, then the hard drive is fine.
Pull it, see what kind of drive it is... IDE or SATA... send me a picture if you're not sure at ElecEngr <<at>> cox >>dot<< net (remove the obvious anti-spam pieces).
I am in Corpus Christi and can't lay my hands on the device.
Daughter is told the micro USB cannot be serviced but has contacted a comapny in Austin that can retrieve the data on drive in question.
