Made it home safely from an excellent gathering. I had the pleasure of meeting Matt (HogHead), and hope that he gets a chance to visit the southeast quadrant of the State sometime soon. Disco also introduced me to ValkPilot and BnB Tom, pleasure to meet both of you. As usual, Dave always
exhibits great hospitality, where ever he is, Thanks.

...until at least 7:45, or so, then it was back in the saddle for the (thankfully) fairly uneventful ride home.  It was a beautiful night and the temperature was just about perfect.  I pulled in about 10:45 after 325 miles (and rolling 50,000 on the odometer. Smiley )

Two armadillos in the left track - one still flopping around  Sad  and one dog heading back into the woods were all the wildlife excitement.   cooldude   Until I nearly squished a possum in the driveway!   Shocked   I'm not sure which one of us was more startled.

The only other stress was at 380 & the tollway when I came upon a multi-car accident with no hazard lights flashing or flares set.  Two cars in the left lane, one of which was straddling the left turn lane stripe, and at least six cars through the intersection on the right shoulder.  Thankfully, I was watching way up the road and when I saw the straddling car I knew something was amiss.  I had plenty of margin to my rear, but was really happy to have flashing LED brake lights.   cooldude  Clamped down hard, then a zig and a zag and I was through the intersection and ON THE GAS!

Great to see everyone - as usual - and thanks for the kind words, Eli.

It was a great pleasure meeting you Eli. A trip to Beaumont is in my plans. I am glad everyone returned home safe. Thank you everyone for coming and making my benefit a success. There were over 300 people in all and I am still overwhelmed this morning with everything. God is good and I am blessed. I hope to be back in the saddle soon and get to ride with ya'll. Ride Safe , Matt

Disco parties on...

Yes.  I made it home before dark (6:47pm) as I had promised..  Phew!   Wink

Of course, it was great to see ya Matt.  Sorry to hear you haven't needed to mow the lawn much this year (NO RAIN).  Do we need to have a wrench party for your lawn mower?  coolsmiley

... maybe you got some Sat. nite when that front rolled through.

It was good meeting all of your friends at the starting point for "The Ride".  I'm sure you appreciated all of their support.   cooldude

I do, however, regret having not won the 'All-expense-paid trip to Aruba'.. wonder who got that   Cheesy

See ya soon Matt.

Sorry I could not hang around to greet you and the rest of the northerners 5_19. I was told by, and I can't say whom, that a certain fellow named Tom, was the youngest 68 year old he knew, which might account for why he wanted to be home before dark. There is another set of eyes that will be 68 years old in January, which accounted for why they wanted to be home before dark also, and we made it with a few minutes to spare.

Matt, I'll be waiting.
