Anyone mount the  Stebel Nautilus air horn in the area in front of the petcock. If you have, please tell me how.  Did you need to make a mounting plate and what does it look like.  I thought this would be a good location for the horn.  Also, where is the best place to find a replacement chrome (albeit, a plastic part) cover to go over the alternator.  Mine has developed wrinkles over time and I want to replace it.
Thanks...Tom in Atlanta Smiley

Horn:

I used a piece of steel bar stock, maybe 2" to 3" long, 3/4" wide, and maybe 1/8" thick (these are approximate dimensions).  A hole drilled in each end, painted black.

There was an existing hole in the frame where the horn is mounted, that was drilled slightly larger and tapped.  The photo is a little blurry due to being enlarged.

Alternator Cover:

The OEM cover is still available from various vendors for around $40.  Part No. 21333-MZ0-A00.  For example, Ron Ayers lists it for $35.98 plus $5 shipping.  I would have quoted HDL, but they seem to be experiencing web problems.  I am not aware of any non-OEM replacement part.

just used a piece of aluminum angle bracing.....painted black and drilled a couple holes.  Works great.

I mounted mine on the right side, behind the ingnition switch. Just a short piece of aluminum bar with two holes. Didn't even measure, just held it in place and eyeballed it, maybe about 1 1/2" spacing. Mounted with just a bit of an angle to clear the ingnition and be able to get the side cover off. You can see a bit of the bar between the stebel and the ingition switch, on a bolt for the ingnition.

Seems like most of the inattentive drivers come at me from the right, so that gets them the best "blast"!  Evil
