take a look in the tech section, problem is probably the starter button needing service. is your bike a Japanese model with reverse?

Those look very similar to my bars, Biker's Choice with 8" rise (see link after the pics): http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/detail.cfm?model_id=12&Category_ID=10&manufacturer_ID=549&product_ID=28234&sblid_name=Biker_s_Choice_Custom_Fat_Pullback_Bar_for_Honda_____inch_Rise__Pullback_for_Honda_1500_Valkyrie_StandardThey are a big improvement for me. I also did the internal wiring (tedious but worth it) and did proper length throttle cables and brake/clutch lines. You can get away with ty-wraps for the stock lines and wiring but you really need the shorter throttle cables or they bind. I also deleted the choke cable altogether and just operate it manually now. All in all I've got a little over 500 bucks in the mod including all parts and a few hours labor. If you need info on lengths send me a PM and I'll provide you with what you need.

Mine are by Drag Specialties. Model 0606-0490 and are an 8 inch rise and 8 inch pullback. They were too much of a reach for me so I had to switch them out. BRAND Drag Specialties CENTER WIDTH 100mm COLOR Chrome MATERIAL Steel OVERALL WIDTH 33.5" PULLBACK/SWEEP 8" RISE/HEIGHT 8" SIZE OF BAR 1 1/4" STYLE T-Bar TYPE Handlebar This guy has some nice bars that will work on our bike. http://www.cruiserperformance.com/

Hey Anvil, your ride really looks good with those bars. Kind'a mean and business like. Thanks. That's exactly what I was going for. That and the less "remote" feeling of the stock bars.

anvil: how is it on your lower back?
Well my lower back is never really a "problem" (as in chronic, but I'm human and as such my muscles ache like anyone else's after enough time) but it's actually a little better being pulled forward. I grew up on sportbikes and I like the reach to the bars. Actually I know some guys who have switched back to sportbikes because of lower back issues. The leaned forward riding position spreads the stress over your butt, legs, arms and back rather than focusing your weight on your back like a more traditional cruiser riding position. My big problem is my left shoulder/trap area. After an hour or so I'd get a brutal pain just to the left of my spine and traveling up my shoulder. It's helped with that. Not completely alleviated it mind you, but helped.

Hey Anvil, What is it with these reservoir caps? Mine looks like yours or worse and I wonder if the previous owner tried to polish them amd burnt them. I have identical caps on my VTX and they look new.

The original owner of the bike lived right on Panama City Beach. It's salt air corrosion as best I can figure.
You know, I've sort of grown to like it.
