Side effects from the flu shot are not actually "the flu". It's your body's reaction to the dead bugs and your immune system kicking into turbo mode for a couple days. Depending on the vaccine manufacturer you may or may not see side effects. You also should not be allergic to eggs.
Then again, it's just as likely that you contracted a common cold from the health care professional who stuck you. These people see hundreds of people a day. Hospitals and doctors offices are THE breeding grounds for disease.
a co worker of my wife ended up in the hospital for over a month from the flu vaccine. I think he'd had it before, may have been a egg reaction. I'll check.
never had a flu shot, probably never will. wife always gets a flu shot and it works every time, she gets a 'mild' version of the flu. however she usually gets sick enough to be out for several days
wash your hands several times a day, and keep your fingers out of your eyes, nose and other orifices
