Yet another reason not to let go the money until the title is in the other hand.

Maybe he doesn't have a safer place to keep it? He might live in an apartment...unsafe neighborhood?

Oh, and is that a 100th Anniversary emblem?  You sure don't see many of those...... 2funny

That's a parts bike only! Buyer is gonna play hell getting a clean title. There is some $$ to be made by parting it out for sure... unless whoever has the title comes a callin'!  Cheesy Grin

It would be simple to take the vin # to any county court clerk and find out who has the title and if it's been stolen. File for a lost title if not stolen and ride the wheels off it. I went to school with one of the lady's that works at the county court clerk in my hometown if that bike was'nt stolen I could have a title in 14 days or less.

I don't know about that Joe. I don't think things are that easy here. Easy enough to get the VIN & let a cop buddy check it out though. I would be suspicious of the seller's story, maybe he is covering up something. The guy he "bought" it from may still owe money on it, maybe he took the insurance money & didn't fix it like he should have. Might explain the "delay" in getting the title.  Roll Eyes
You never know!

I think there was one of those "100th anniversery" edition V-Rods already on the rollback when the guy came to pick up my Rocket 3 to be shipped overseas. They must be worth a million dollars by now! 2funny 2funny

Looks stolen, and he's hoping no one catches on?  Seems risky on his part, but might be brazen/stupid enough to try it.
