T'was a great day for a ride! A little morning fog that lifted pretty quickly once we got a little north of San Antonio. f-Stop mentioned Liz's (she says "Hi!" back atcha). Hank and I tried extremely hard to spend some money with her (boots for me, vest for Hank), but it wasn't going to happen

. For anyone who cares, H-D is evidently pulling their permission for independents to sell H-D branded footwear (made by Wolverine) effective the end of this year. Liz is having problems fulfilling orders, but will do her best if you act as quickly as possible: the supply lines are drying up, and she's hearing "can't get that for you" much more frequently as December approaches.
On a sadder note, the Sunset a couple doors down from Liz's is no more. Liz claims the merchants who've been closing up shop haven't been doing so for lack of business: it's supposedly more of a "want more time to call my own" sort of thing. There's a BBQ place off the main square whose owner is still selling product over at Albert, and simply got tired of the hassle of dealing with employees and the main business in Blanco. The Sunset's owners tried to find someone to lease the restaurant and keep it running, but when the deal fell through, they closed their doors. I think it was mentioned the WB Saloon was closed as well

, but their web page is still active ?!
Thumbs-up

for the Bowling Club Cafe. Hank and I *did* eventually make our way over to Wimberly to check out The Hog Pound. Gonna have to make the trip back up that way with our wives: looks like there are several places they could spend money

.
