Let's work in a Breakfast before the Food Bank run.  That way we can eat, visit and then those who want to can travel over to the Food Bank Charity Event.  They are supposed to have breakfast tacos available at the event or we could meet somewhere.

If we meet somewhere, it will need to be at 9:00.  I'm suggesting the Bowling Alley Cafe in Blanco.

-----------------------------

Mark your CenTex VRCC calendars for November 13th!  (I know, a little late for Day of the Dead, but they didn't want to compete with the Lone Star Rally)

The Hays County Food Bank is having their first ever Food and Fun Run and will be sponsored by The Hog Pound in Wimberley.  Register by November 9th and save five bucks!  (No online registration -- either snail mail or in person)

Should make for a good CenTex breakfast run!

I'm suggesting the Bowling Ally Cafe in Blanco...

It was a pleasure meeting with Old Geezer, Mrs. Geezer, Wabbit on his Rune and Hank on his VTX 1300 at the Bowling Ally Cafe this morning...

After a hearty breakfast the Geezers and I headed over to the Dia de los Muertos Food and Fun Run in Wimberley while Wabbit and Hank went shopping at Liz's on the Square.

The Geezers got their event T-shirts and headed back to San Antonio and I stayed for the ride and raffle.  Ended up winning a bottle of wine and some wine glasses!

Met a lot of nice folks on the ride and had a good time!  Hildr was the only Valkyrie and got a lot of attention...

T'was a great day for a ride!  A little morning fog that lifted pretty quickly once we got a little north of San Antonio.  f-Stop mentioned Liz's (she says "Hi!" back atcha).  Hank and I tried extremely hard to spend some money with her (boots for me, vest for Hank), but it wasn't going to happen  Cry.  For anyone who cares, H-D is evidently pulling their permission for independents to sell H-D branded footwear (made by Wolverine) effective the end of this year.  Liz is having problems fulfilling orders, but will do her best if you act as quickly as possible: the supply lines are drying up, and she's hearing "can't get that for you" much more frequently as December approaches.

On a sadder note, the Sunset a couple doors down from Liz's is no more.  Liz claims the merchants who've been closing up shop haven't been doing so for lack of business: it's supposedly more of a "want more time to call my own" sort of thing.  There's a BBQ place off the main square whose owner is still selling product over at Albert, and simply got tired of the hassle of dealing with employees and the main business in Blanco.  The Sunset's owners tried to find someone to lease the restaurant and keep it running, but when the deal fell through, they closed their doors.  I think it was mentioned the WB Saloon was closed as well Sad, but their web page is still active ?!

Thumbs-up cooldude for the Bowling Club Cafe.  Hank and I *did* eventually make our way over to Wimberly to check out The Hog Pound.  Gonna have to make the trip back up that way with our wives: looks like there are several places they could spend money uglystupid2.
