IWAY 500c GPS

Any one with a Lowrance IWAY500c gps having problems with it.
After the unit has been on for a while it sometimes flips between the screen orientations.(north up/travel direction up/3-D). The unit does not lose location/tracking when this happens. The music still works fine. Its driving me nuts. Is there a fix for it besides buying a new one like Lowrance recommends? Thanks,

I have one and have not had any real problems.  It did a reset once, but it may have been my fault.  I know that Lamont had several go bad and also bought a 600 and had problems with it also.  I still like mine because the display is BIG.

I would do a reset.
They have a soft and a hard reset. I would do the soft first.
The hard reset you loose all your waypoints and addresses!!!
The hard reset is the last resort. It takes the unit back to the way it was shipped from the factory!!!
Lowrance does not make Auto GPS units any more. They had many issues with the Iway units so they stopped all together. I love my Iway 500c . It is my second unit, my first took a dump????I like the 500c so much I took a chance on another. I am also bidding on ebay for another, When my second takes a dump????I got the second for $70 so the price was not to bad.
If the reset does not work ,look at a good cleaning of the screen and a screen calibration!! Even clean the inside corners of the screen. Gunk can collect in the corners underneath the edges causing issues.

I've got the 600c and the damn thing has gotten me lost more than it has taken me to my destination! I'm thinking about putting it up on fleabay. There was supposed to be an upgrade DVD for it. I ordered it and waited 6 months before they finally told me it wasn't going to be available after all!  I'm saving my pennies for a zumo  now.
