I saw the 'Amboy Dukes' at St. Johns High School in Jackson, Michigan . . . . Ted did an HOUR guitar solo and tore it up! It was awesome! I wouldn't rank him as one of the five all-time greats, but he's flat out FAST when he tries! He always got his gas at the Sinclair station (our teenage hangout) on the corner of Robinson rd and McCain. Saw here there filling up his Chevy station wagon a bunch of times. He lived in the Hanover-Horton area and wasn't "really" famous yet, but still very well known. He was always friendly and cool. . .  I don't care what anyone says, I agree with him about 98% of the time!

I saw him live a few years ago. I thought his guitar playing was better live than his studio stuff would have led me to expect. He did his version of the "Star Spangled Banner", I think it was better than the Hendrix version.

He also was a advocate for not doing illegal drugs.

Said he always had sex instead to fuel his wild antics and drugs were not the thing to do.

Little known fact and maybe that is his conservative side coming out.

I've seen him 36 times over the years going back to 1974.
CalJam 2.
Yea, I agree with him too but the knobs wouldnt be able to take a Teddy Presidency.
The rest of us would have a ball.

He should have stuck to music. His limited vocabulary, intellect and inability to control his temper makes him a terrible spokesman for the cause. He's great at whipping up the faithful, but the faithful are what they are. What's needed is someone who's rational and can speak to other intelligent people and get them on the right side of the fence. That ain't Ted.

He also needs to lose the Janet Jackson headset. But he is a terrific guitar player. If you're not a player yourself you may not appreciate just how hard it is to play with that much gain on a semi-hollow body guitar. They want to violently feed back any time you aren't touching a string. Note how much he has to work the volume knob to keep it under control.
