Although I'm an SEC fan, I'm not taking sides on this one.

I just think it's funny Nebraska got whooped today.   Wink

I have wager on LSU and watching overtime.  Here they are at the 7 and running, WTF, waiting for a fumble?  Where is field goal team??

Field goal team on the field, alabama trying to ice the kicker with a late time out.  They line up for kick . . . it is up and GOOD!!  Yeah, I'm a winner. Grin Grin Grin

OK, congrats to LSU but I gotta be honest, I don't agree with the interception call earlier.  The ref on the field got it wrong, the Alabama receiver had it on the ground and the LSU defender pulled it away.  The ball should have been dead when the receiver hit the ground.  But, I've got no dog in that fight, I just think the ref made a bad call.  Since there has to be overwhelming evidence for the replay to counter the call, the field call stood.  Again, no dog in that fight but, I saw it as a bad call.  Other than that, a very well officiated game.

Close call blackrams, but i think official had hard time seeing when they went down.  But, call on field was interception.  Replay "ad nauseum" seemed to show he did not have control.  Could have gone either way, but I was happy with call.  Grin

Cheesy  W's and L's.  We'll take the W on this one.  Mistakes on all three sides....LSU, Alabama, and Refs.

I saw two very good and very evenly matched teams play 60 minutes of smash-mouth football.  You can argue the interception call, but you have to accept that sometimes the ball bounces your way and sometimes it doesn't.  If BAMA had a field goal kicker, that interception call wouldn't have mattered.  I just hate that there wasn't a clear-cut winner; to me, BAMA lost the game in overtime themselves, LSU just did the minimum that any decent team should do in overtime by kicking a field goal.  Would love to see them play again at the end of the season!   Wink

Disclaimer:  I am a diehard LSU fan, and any of my comments may be considered as "biased."

That said, I re-watched the interception in slow motion that was questioned above and disagree that a bad call was made by the official.

The ruling was also confirmed by the review official in the booth after "further review."

The people in Alabama need to stop blaming the "ref" and look more at their field goal shortcomings.

Just to be clear, I am die-hard fan of neither team, I'm an SEC fan.  I stand by my opinion but, opinions are just that and mine carries no weight with the officials.  It was a bad call.

But, you are correct about the field goals.   I also agree that the overtime period was very lopsided.  Basketball season is upon us, I'll most likely be much more bias'd come Final Four time.  Wink
