40 years ago...

... this evening at 6 PM... got hitched. Celebrated the landmark event at a 5 star hotel overlooking and across the entrance to a harbor... at a wind swept bluff on the other side where 37 years ago this week I was camped out in my VW van with one week on the job. Camped out for six weeks till I got a few bucks ahead to find a place to rent and bring family to a new home in the far north coast of CA. 37 years down... plan to start vacation in June... leave the office keys on the desk, and burn leave days to get to and and slam the door on year 38, and call it a day. How time flies.

not that i'm a good son or anything, but when my parents celebrated their 40th anniversary i was working for northwest airlines.  i got them tickets to go to Hawaii for a week.  flew them out first class, went along with them, tickets cost us $200 for all four of us, of course my wife and i didn't fly first class, but they sure enjoyed it!!
