So I bought a tank bib from Talisman leather products.  There was no instructions and the hole for the bezel didn't match so I emailed em' and asked what was up and they say sorry, but you have to unscrew the bezel by unlocking the tank like you're going to fill it and removing the two screws inside there. 

Does that make sense?  Has anyone done this before?  Will it pop right out?  They said to plug the hole so the screws don't fall into the tank.  Thanks.  Steve

Nice bib by the way if it'll work.

Yes, they're right. Open the cap, I suggest standing astride the bike, and you'll see two small phillips screws on the bezel end nearest you. Carefully remove them so as to not drop them in the tank and the bezel lifts off. Place the bib where you want it, then replace the bezel. You might want to leave the screws slightly loose so you can adjust the bib a little once in place. Then tighten the screws. You might want to bolt the front of the bib down loosely prior to removing the bezel, the bibs often need a bit of stretching to fit.

pop your gas cap lid open like your going to put gas in it..at the rear you'll see 2 little screws..remove those screws and that whole assembly. cap and surrounding besel will come right off.. ( do not drop the screws in the tank ). after installing your bib..put the cap and besel back on..5 minute job at the most.

You guys are the best!  Just had to ask.  OK, I'll do it tomorrow.  I plan on planting my new Gerbing dual controller on top of or in the little pouch on the bib so I can adjust heat as necessary.  Pics to follow.  Steve

A tad more than an hour if you actually do manage to drop one of the screws into the tank..... Cool

Use a magnetic screw driver, then you wont drop the screws.

just open the cap and cover the hole with packing tape. when you drop the screw,and you will,at least you wont have to look in the tank.

I take the caps/bezels off my tanks every time I wax the bikes.  How else are you going to do a good job of detailing?    Wink
