Michigan...Home of InZane X -XI

Oscoda, Michigan

« on: November 07, 2011, 06:32:42 PM »

Got a call the other day, KDog said Sarge was in need of a road trip and the sun is going to shine this weekend. So Devl and I packed our bags and loaded the bikes up. Got up early and headed over to see where we was riding too.

It was a little cool but the sun was out.

Got as far as Ann Arbor before I need a hot cup of coffee.

Back on the road heading south and looking for a little warmth.

It stayed pretty cool all day on Sat.( 51*) but we managed to make it as far as Zanesville Ohio

We stayed at a Baymont Inn right on I-70 and Ohio rt 60 and after a good dinner and a few social night caps we planned a day of riding for the morning.

Shot down 60 to the 555, Devl and I have been down their a few times, I think the first time was at InZane III.

What a great ride, we had the road practically to ourselves.

When we got down to the bottom we jumped RT 7 and followed the Ohio river for awhile.

Till we hooked up with Rt. 60.

We liked that road to great sweeping curves good road, cool small towns.

The day turned out bright and sunny nice and warm for November.

This part of Ohio has some great riding if you haven't been down there you should plan a trip.

Got back to our motel had a good dinner and few night caps the put the bikes to bed .

In the morning they said we was going to run into some rain north of Columbus so we had a good breakfast and headed out about 8:45.

Started out a little cool but the sun was still shining, clouds off to the north.

Suit up and ride.

Well we pushed on pretty hard only got a few rain drops on us never hit a soaker.

Had a great weekend in Ohio with good friends and it home at 2:45 so we made good time too.

Great pictures.
Some of the best riding around down there.  We go down there a couple times a year riding and were down there two weeks ago with the Vette club doing the same roads.

You will have to consider the SE Ohio Ride next August.  We host it out of Zanesville, will be the 10th year and guaranteed good time.  We just got the motel and reservation block all set for next year.  We expect a lot of bikes.  Hopefully we will see a few more Valk's next year.

Awesome ride report Rtaz!  Great pics of great roads.  I was able to ride the Mau Mee river road a couple years ago.  That is a good road to ride if you drop down from Ann Arbor to Mau Mee.
Thanks for sharing!

Looks like perfect weather for a ride, with light traffic and good company--a trifecta.

Thanks for sharing.

Yes, this was a great weekend. At the Last minute ,like the day before ,we decided to take a 3 day ride. Buddy in the kennel, frost off the roads and we were off. Left about 10 am and arrived in Ohio before dark. Thanks RTaz for leading. K-dog even got his fill of McRibs. I THINK. cooldude

Yes...the weather was beautiful...just couldn't waste it cooldude
Dawn had a most excellent idea and the 555 turned out to be just the ticket!
Thanks Dawn for having the idea and inviting us on what could possibly be our last big ride for the year up here in Michigan.  Still hoping for a day ride here or there though Roll Eyes  We enjoyed ourselves immensely...you guys are  AWESOME!!
