Quite a few things help but you HAVE to change your diet.

I have had gout for quite a few years now..doc's gave me pills,,,which I hate...so I don't take em..
I have found two things that work well....one is apple cider vinegar, mix about 1/2 oz with the same amount of water and guzzle it down..tastes like sh-t, but works quickly if you are having an episode..
The other is concentrated cherry juice..supposed to mix a tablespoon in an 8 oz glass of whatever you like.. a place just up the road makes it and I buy a 6 month supply at a time..only problem is, I like the stuff and use it up in a month..lol...good stuff, and keeps the episodes to a minimum.

I've had 3 bouts of gout in the last couple of years. Santa aka "Tom" told me at inzane 10 to do the cherry juice and it helps. but you have to drink it everyday. I found that out the hard way on my last episode. My doctor told me it won't help much if you only drink it when you have an episode. He told me to drink lots of water all the time and it should keep the uric acid washed out of my system. It has been 6 months since my last episode and the water seems to be working

BTW....the Doctor told me beer/alchohol has nothing to do with gout!
So Britman let's drink to that cooldude
