Those splines do look "good" Meaning (to me) on the scale of quality: New/like new Great Some minor wear Good Very worn Unusable

Yeah, there's some obvious wear, but could run a long time with the proper lubricant and a watchful eye.....

It looks good (or better) to me. The best view I found was to look at its mate - the flange. I just hope whoever wins the auction is smart enough to also win the auction for the matched/mated other half. Otherwise...

I would call that "significant" wear. I wouldn't buy it. Needs rebuilt.
If installed properly each and every time, you should never see that much wear.
150,000 hard miles on mine and there is no visible wear, as in the teeth wearing like in those pictures. Should never be more than a shiny spot on the teeth.

The "spline" looked REALLY good to me, but the flange gear teeth pretty worn!!
Not to hijack, but anyone see the complete radiator, hoses, reserve tank etc. on the same site?? I thought I just read here a day or so back that someone was looking for one!! ??

I'm glad several of you guys chimed in on this post.. I was looking at those and I thought they looked pretty good. But after reading the comments, I guess they are not. Guess I need to sharpen up my final drive gear skills. Thanks to all for the info and opinions.

It looks like the two pieces in MN were won by the same bidder.

It does show two different items.
Item 4. Circlip part # 40219-MG9-000 and Item 6. Stopper part # 40222-MN5-000

Part no 6 is a cup type washer that encompasses the circlip (part no 4) to insure everything stays in place and does not allow the spring to "unload"

RONW...the fact that what looks like ONE washer is the color it is.....kinda gold means there are two parts there. THe snap ring that sets inside that gold thing that Ricky called a cup washer......(sounds good) would not be that color. I have two drive shafts laying around and they both look like the pictured one, there is a gold cup washer with a snap-ring inside it

thanks for the replies. It does solve a mystery at least to me. I've pasted together the graphic below for future reference. If you like you can save it to your photo files in case somebody asks the same question about the '2 washers'. As we speak, Waikiki is hosting the APEC summit (Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation), possibly the biggest international event the state has ever hosted, so we're in a bit of a lock down mode in Waikiki town, understandably with Obama and heads of state from Russian and China and other major Pacific rim nations staying in the area. If the diplomats drive to Jack-in-the-Box they do so with a full security escort. Last night, a convoy of 7 military Hummers whisked pass traveling in the other direction I surmise surveillancing the streets.
