the first step......or so they say?.......

I have been walking 3-4 days after work each week.....I walked a total of 36.15 miles in the month of October......

I walked 4.6 miles today.....after having given a pint of blood this morning.......for a total of 14.85 miles this week and a total of 28.33 miles the first two weeks of November......for a grand total of 64.48 miles in the last 6 weeks or so.......

I weighed 226lbs when I started.....and weighed in at an even 200lbs the other morning.....

I have also cut way back on regular sodas and drink Crystal light and water at work and for most meals.....I do still get a regular coke/pepsi on the weekends sometimes.....I guess if I could give them up completely, I'd be able to lose the weight even faster......I also have cut back on my portions somewhat......baby steps is better than nothing at all...... cooldude

Keep up the good work Stanley.  I've lost about 85 since Feb.  Maintaining now for the holidays, but back at it after Dec.  Gotta get under 200 for the first time in 25 years next year.

Go man Go!

Good job!  I too have been walking for the past 13 years.  Since I live two miles to my office, I walk 16 miles a week (four day per week, four miles round trip).  Unfortunately I have gained 24 pounds in that period of time, going from 200 to 224.  But, I think I can credit my excellent health to the walking.  Keep it up.

Stanley, speaking from exp. don't go crazy with the weight loss.

At your age you can over do it and harm your health.

Level off at a predetermined point and maintain that weight.

Good Job so far as I can tell.

Baby steps aren't only better than nothing... they're sometimes the best way to do things!!!  All at once can be harsh shock to the system.

26 lbs in that time span ain't to shabby.  Keep up the good work!

Way to go Stanley!  It is amazing how some light exercise and change of diet, no matter how small can make a big difference over time.

I lost 300 pounds of ugly fat in 9 months . Sorry ,that was my divorce.
Each pound of weight loss lessens the shock load on your knees by 10 pounds. Hang in there. The body is selfish to give up fat, but it will. Just a suggestion, talk to your doctor and get the necessary blood tests so you know what vitamins to take.   It is amazing how much your life will change.
Also, if you have children or grandchildren, you may be able to keep up with them or stick around longer to irritate them. (you know, payback)
