Ok. Here goes nothing. For the record this was my first ride with any sort of windshield on a bike ever. The stock one isn't bad, definately blocks the wind. Went out last night to meet friends for dinner. 38 deg when I left the house 34 when I got home around 0200. stayed warm the whole time. This one is missing a good bit of the coating, and as a result seems to fog up easlily. A little short for a 6'4" rider ( had the pumpkin on a stick feeling while ridng with the HJC full face) next spring will probably go to a replacement shield with 2" added. Whats the benefit to the light tint? if any? All in all a good add/find (thanks Ryan  ) |

Light (smoke) grey on a black bike, very sharp. |

Even though I look over the shield, I find being able to see objects through the shield is an advantage especially when riding at dawn and dusk

I have a Showchrome extra large tinted shield on my IS. Even after dusk the tint doesn't really stop me from seeing the road up close (pot holes etc), but it does cut down on glare on wet roads with the sun shining in front of me. Less eye strain in some conditions, no visual impedance otherwise. And it looks cool.

Love the oem shield. After I put the batwing on I missed the all weather protection of the shield. I love how the b'wing cuts the plains wind tho. Wing is tinted and like it. Makes the bike look good. No problems at night or in the rain.

the light tint cuts way back on sun and auto headlight glare. Thats what I have found after switching from non-tint to tinted Clearview. And a light tint is way more attractive feature to the bike vs a clear shield. That is my two cents.

Ok, llight tint it'll be. Have always had awesome night vision, but with the evil of getting eye strain during the day very easily. so hopefully the tint will help a little more. I've had sunny days where i was wearing my sunglasses in the full face with the dark shield, just to keep from squinting.....

Ive had motorcycles both with and without windshields
Its easier to duck your head under the rain with a windshield, rain hurts like hell at 60 mph without one
You windshield gets all yellow at night from all the bugs, your face gets all yellow from all the bugs without one
You can hear your wife talking with a windshield, its harder to hear your wife talk without one (you know, slow down, theres a curve ahead, didnt you see that pot hole, oh God just let me get home safe and I will never go with him again.)
After weighing the pros and cons I think maybe next year I will remove my windshield..............

Have always had awesome night vision Goes away as you get older. From your picture you look rather young. I just turned 50 and mine started to go around 40. Can't read or work at the PC without reading glasses. |

I have windows on all my street bikes. I guess it is the 50 thing.
When ya get done, send that 4 year old over to my house. I want my avatar to be my dragon.
I have areally bitchen custom made dragon that matches my Jade and Cream dragon.
A friend of mine does that as a artistic sideline.
Not really cheap, but I'm the only one I know with a dragon hangin on the wall.

I run a non-tinted shield. Usually I look over it, which is the way I think it should be, but I have been known to tuck in behind it. When I do try to tuck in behind it, it is never in the type of weather I wanted to be looking past the tint.
