It uses those security screws they use in public bathrooms to keep the fixtures from disappearing which is a good idea from a security standpoint, but how would you unscrew them should you ever decide to remove it?  ???

You would have to drill them out and get new screws. Shouldn't be hard to find. I'd use standard screws until I found the perfect place to mount it, then use the secure screws.

I have been using that same lock for a couple of years, it works great. Instead of using the security screws that came with it, I used Socket Head Cap Screws picked up from the hardware store.

I have two of those on the engine guard, used the secure screws. Had to replace one a while back and was able to get it unscrewed OK, may have dremeled a groove for a screwdriver. Wasn't difficult, even this cave woman could do it.

If you get it, get some hex or torx head screws and throw those damn 1 one screws in da trash.  You can get them out, but you usually screw up the piece they hold on.

Besides, if someone wants the helmet bad enough, they can get it off pretty damn quick, trust me. Experts will have it off in less than 20 seconds.
I worked in the Theft Recovery Dept for a few years.   You'd be surprised at some of the ways they took stuff off.    With these battery powered tools, it is just a little bump in the road for the thief.

Cutting the strap renders the helmet worthless. All the helmets I've seen have non replaceable straps.

True, but there are actually some people who don't care about the function. They just want the bling. I've heard of straps being cut for the lids attached to them.

That's why a cable lock through the chinbar is my preferred method. I don't think anyone's gonna go out of their way for an 80 dollar half helmet though.

I know a few people that have helmets with the straps repaired...
MINE I either take it with me or put it in the trunk.
