I needed to stay at work on Friday, so I missed the Land Between The Lakes ride, but I
rode up there on Saturday for some hanging out in the parking lot... I only put about 320
miles on getting there, but it took all day, started out sub-freezing with heated gear in
North Georgia... whoever invented heated gear should get a raise!

Mac told me about 30 between Dayton and McMinnville when we rode the Natchez Trace last
year, and I rode it then, it is a good road, I took pictures this time...

yahoo!

So, then I got there and we hung out in the parking lot and ate pizza in Joe and
Wimp's room... soon we had more people in there than you could ever fit in a
Volkswagon... this is Reb's picture...

We all took off in every direction the next morning, Paul and I rode most of the day
together. He lives in Atlanta, and we went back a very different way than
I came up... Paul led us down I24 from Nashville, through Chattanooga and down I75
into North Georgia... and we burned it up, Eric would be proud of us  cooldude
It was VERY windy, sustained around 30mph with lots of big gusts... crowded hi-way,
it was a pretty exciting ride to North Georgia... I didn't take many hi-way pictures...

Paul exited off I75 at exit 333 and led us to a road I'd never been on before,
Fort Mountain... sounds like it would be fun to go see the park, but we just
enjoyed the road today...

Paul and I split up in Ellijay... I took 76 across North Geogia home... 76 is
a pretty good road, big nice hi-way through the mountains most of the way and
it cuts down to just two lanes and real curvy near Clayton... so many good roads
around here... it was great to see everyone, I met Winghot for the first time...
Hal... go take your pill!

Great pictures.

I remember a few roads around Peachtree City that were interesting.

Found most of them by mistake, took a wrong turn out of P'City headed to the Nascar Race.    We were only 50 laps late.   LOL..

Don't ask me who won cause I don't remember.    I'm thinking it might have been J Gordon when he was much younger and more of a dare devil driver..

Hehe... all my hi-way pics are wrinkly like that... a combination of the wind and... rate of travel...  Wink
I've had the little camera for about four years now, and it's mount on my air-wing is getting a little
floppy...

That picture is after we passed Chattanooga... the wind had died down some...
in Tennessee it was really windy! There was some construction, with those concrete
construction barriers making like you were riding 2 feet down in a groove with transfer trucks
all around you, wind blowing like crazy, no place to go if anything went wrong... nobody slows
down...I don't want to be there now, but when it is happening, you can really tell you are alive  cooldude

Riding to take pictures seems like a great reason to ride.

Just one question....or maybe it's just an observation. When ya'll go on an overnight ride together....does everyone share the same bed? In all these pics, I keep seeing the same people in the same bed  2funny

Good report/pictures Mike.  I rode down through your neighborhood Friday going to Florida. Rode rt 11 down to the GA line and 85 from US 25.  Took I-85 into Alabama and two laners to Fla from near Opelika.  Yes, it was windy Sunday on I-75 and I-24 near Chattanooga. One guy with us almost hit one of the concrete barriers when the wind gust caught his Gold Wing trike.

That was a fun ride home Mike.  After we split I rode Hwy. 52 then took in some more twisties on Burnt Mountain Road and Hwy. 136.

Some of the best roads around are right in my own back yard.
