If that guy's got money he's hiding it well. A typical ghetto-ass ride technique is 2000 dollar wheels on a 1500 dollar car.  Wink

Also, do people realize how bad those huge wheels look with those tiny brake rotors in there?

THere is a HUGE place down on 8 mile in Detroit (bout 2-3 miles south of my house) .... Called Hot Wheels City. Big place all windows and neon...... must have over 1000 sets of rims of all sizes.. all they do...  best part... you can LEASE or RENT them!!!!!!

Can you say $500 car and $4000 set of rims?!?!?!?!??  will have to take pics next time I go by.

Obviously that is before the five fingered discount is applied.  Most of those rims are so hot you can cook your dinner on them.  Also check out how much weight it takes to get them balanced.

Do you realize that 90% or the population don't understand the BASIC physics of inertia??

BIG HEAVY tires = HARD to stop = bigger brakes are needed.....  this is stuff that is (supposed to be) learned in high school.

I see the same situation on jacked-up red-neck 4X4s...

Money can be hidden... stupidity can not.

It started a long time before 20", and 22" wheels were available. Before wheels became large in diameter, they became wide, with huge off-sets to keep them from rubbing on suspension components.

The amount of stress these put onto wheel bearings, ball joints, and spindles (you can go on and on here) was incredible, yet it was then, and will always be, "form over function". ??? People will pay big $$ to make the performance of their cars worse. Sad
