In the Muslims in America thread, I posted that christians around the world are being murdered as you read this post. Here are just two of the many websites that detail such behavior. None of these christians are being killed by atheists or other christian sects. They are all being killed by one or two hate filled groups.

http://www.frontline.org.za/articles/christ_in_congo.htm

http://www.opendoorsusa.org/

Because there are some here that complain of "religious" threads, I clearly marked this one as Not Valk Related.

Pray for those in authority around the world,

Mark

What does organized religion have to do with God? I've never been able to figure that out.

My parents were immigrants and Catholic. They taught us to always "Question Authority".

Muslims, Jews, Gypsies, Blacks, Native Americans and many other ethnic/religious groups have been the ones that needed to be kept under control,....unfortuniately history proves that.

This is America, and we need to show tolerance until a person/s prove otherwise. Our Constitution and Bill of Rights should govern our views of people unlike ourselves. That is why Mennonites and the Amish are tolerated without being indoctrinated to join the "American Way of Life".

This is a Valkyrie Motorcycle Forum, and we are allowed freedom of speech.
Unless you have been personally affected by a religious or ethnic group, then all this anti Islam crap should stop.

I originally posted about "All American Muslims" on TLC. I had no idea that there was so much hatred among the VRCC. It seems that unless you truely experience anomosity from an ethnic/religious group, do you get your information from "the media"?

I suggest that we "chill out" and maybe watch the TLC show without prejudgeing people.

Peace

Mark,
You know I like you, and I enjoy reading your posts so don’t take offence to this;

Christians and Muslims have been killing each other for centuries!  I’m pretty sure that the “persecution” factor is equal on both sides.  The only thing is that you’re only hearing your “Christian” side and not seeing, or hearing of the crimes that Christians have committed against Muslims.  I would strongly recommend that before anyone believes they’re being persecuted, they should put themselves in the persecutors position and question why that person hates your beliefs so much.  Chances are, their experience with your religion hasn’t been positive.

Now, I have a brother that proclaims to be a “born again Christian”, I don’t know if you recall all the writings I’ve posted on my utter hatred I have for my oldest brother, but because of “him” I find it hard to like, or trust, those that proclaim to be “born again”.  The same way that you feel Muslims are persecuting Christians, Christians have been persecuting Muslims.  It’s a war that will never be won, and personally, isn’t worth fighting for.

Take care, and don’t dwell on it, THEY’RE BOTH GUILTY OF HATRED!!

I'd really love to discuss with you, Al, your perspectives that are so shot full of bad assumption and misinformation, but I truly don't want to pour more fuel on this particular thread.

I did find those two items of your post interesting.  They made me smile.   Wink

I don't hate anybody. There are people I like, people I love, people I don't know, and folks I will have no dealings with.

Hate? Nope.

Life's too short, takes too much energy, and hurts the hater more than the hatee.

Of course, that doesn't make me a pushover or anything. I don't have to hate somebody to defend me and mine.

That's a wise choice.  If you're going to spend your hatred you want to put it where it'll do the most good.

Momz....I cant speak for anyone else, but my comments arent motivated by hatred.  They come from a deep LOVE of my country.  It gives me a major pain I cannot locate to see anyone intentionally trying to do harm to this great Nation.  No matter if its Mexico sending their people over here to take back what they think is theirs and suck up money, services and jobs without doing it legal like...or its progressive liberals giving the country away, trying to take away our rights.......or what we are talking about here.....Muslims spreading across the globe to take over and "defeat" the west.  I just cant pretend its nothing when I know better

Alph,

Please don't judge God by the actions of your brother or anyone else. The world has questionable examples everywhere. Men will fail you, unfortunately, it's been our nature since the original sin.

I typically say to study the origins of things because I find it neccessary. I was 43 before I accepted the Holy Bible 100% as the infallible word of God. Prior to that, I was very effective at condeming belivers of any and all faiths. Very, effective.

But I studied many of the worlds religions and their place in the worlds time line. During His brief ministry on earth and soon after Jesus gave up His life on the cross, men perverted and changed His teachings. Many of these teachings are known as Gnostic writings. A worthwhile study is the origin of world religions, there place on the world's timeline and what happened to cause them to be formed. There are many texts from many sources. You want to learn about Mormons, Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus etc. study their text books and there claims. Then cross check them using other (opposing) sources of information. It's a very rewarding endeavor.

Anyway, hope to ride with you again next Summer,

Mark

Last Sunday the weather was kinda grey so I baked some whole wheat  bread (Hodgson Mill flour) and made some soup. Put some diced sweet potato in the soup along with a variety of other stuff including some palate ripping red pepper. Hmmm Hmmm Mmmm

A local wing place serves loaded sweet potato fries. My oh my, they are wonderful. When we lived in Southern California we'd go to a couple monthly antique swap meets. There was a lady selling the most delicious sweet potato pie I've ever had. Man was it good.
