Me and my Valk at Freedom Rock

« on: November 16, 2011, 10:49:05 AM »

Wife got her own bike this year.
We got some miles in this summer.
We got a ride planned for next summer and will be riding alot.

One of the things I would like to get is a bike to bike com system.
Don't want anything that would need to actually be installed on the bikes like a CB system.
Just a basic system with few bells and whistles.

I've seen a few on the net. Wondering what is being used and what gets good reviews.

Thanks

My wife and I have the Scala G4 Power set. Works great.  My cousin and his wife have the same set so when we all go out we can all communicate with each other.  In the real world it is good for about 1/2 mile.

Communcation is defintely important.
I haven't spoken to my wife in 3 or 4 days.

She doesn't like to be interrupted. Smiley

another vote for the SCALA G4 Powerset....definite improvement over the Q2 and has all the features you might need should you decide to incorporate GPS or cell phone and MP3 player in the future.

Don't go for cheap imitations....it's a waste of money and time.

My wife rides her own,...hand signals are all we need.

I went the cheaper route.  I've got the Shark MTB bluetooth set from Amazon.  Only about $125 and it works decently and syncs with my cellphone.  Haven't tried the extremes of range yet, but she doesn't ride that far off my right shoulder for it to be an issue.  Works good when she's on the back also.  I like being able to talk to her without leaning back turning my head.
