So, do I win the "slowest broadband in the universe" award?  I'm on Satellite internet -- no cable or DSL are available out here.  Fortunately it's a beautiful, clear day so speeds are faster than they could be.

And it gets slower as it warms up, I guess.

A grade of  F minus?  Wow.  I didn't know there were different shades of failure.  Is an F plus actually better?

I had Wildblue satellite internet at my business one time due to lack of dsl or cable.  Died when it was cloudy at the office or cloudy at the uplink site. Or if someone was having a bad day.  Or the sky was blue.

I live in Scottsdale so I picked several different locations. Here are the results all run through Internet Explorer 8 with the Norton Internet Security active and through the Netgear wireless system in the house and COX cable broad band.  These are all contributing factors. By the way if you have broad band that comes accross with your TV cable service and you did the test while having a TV on it will impact your results.

From Scottsdale to Tucson:
75MS   18.12   4.90
76MS   18.50   5.09
to Flagstaff
115MS   4.25   4.48
to Payson
125   3.59   4.72
to Lake Havasue City
75MS   20.68   5.09
75MS   16.77   5.03
to Pima
55MS   10.16   5.38
to Albuquerque NM
45MS   19.41   5.40

I am not sure what this is indicating other than different transfer rates are dependant on where you are sending or receiving from?

I guess that I should be glad my score is not F-.  At least mine is F+.

So much for being in/near a major metropolitan city.  Houston service pulls a pretty good vacuum.

In other words, It sucks.
