Me and my Valk at Freedom Rock

« on: November 19, 2011, 04:21:09 PM »

And I missed it.

Went to work this morning about 7am.
About 36 degrees, a little cloudy.

At our 10:30 break, I go outside and it's raining. Not happy about that.

At our 1pm break, I go outside and its now in the low 20's and everyone's car and the trucks and some idiots motorcycle are covered in a thin coat of ice. When we are done at 3:30, everyone is scraping a lot of ice off the windshields. I'm punching my seat to break the ice on it. The grips are encased in ice. The tank and fenders are encased in ice.

I have to chip ice away from the choke lever. Work the choke lever to disengage the ice at the rails. Finally get it started and start the slow ride home.
The roads were still ok. I heard the bridges were really icy. Couple of small icy patches but easily avoidable. Just a 5 min. ride across town to the house.

Never had the bike encrusted in ice before. Hopefully never again.

Looks like this may be the end of the riding season for me.
Gonna lose my PRIMO parking space at work now.

And I missed it.

It would have been wrong anyway.
