Just fitted one of those Blinker Buddy vibrating seat things (indicator reminder).

Easy to fit. Tried it yesterday and after a short ride my rear end felt like it had been violently molested by the entire Welsh Rugby Team.  Embarrassed Shocked Shocked Shocked Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Oooh, NO. Nononono.

THIS THING IS LIKE SETTING A GRENADE OFF UNDER THE SEAT! Bloody hell, its powerful. 2funny

Does anyone know if it could be adjusted by fitting a  variable resistor / rheostat into the circuit ?

If so, can any one advise is which part of the circuit (I'm guessing positive) and how I'd know which type to order? Its a 5 amp 12V circuit so would that be enough to tell the supplier? I don;t know much about electrics.. ???

I don't know the electrical question answer either, perhaps a call to the manufacturer?

Maybe it should go under the back seat for thee passenger.You will probably have too leave your blinkers on when the wife is along though.
I picked up a little electronic variable controller for led that is rated at 10 amps off ebay for 5 bucks (new) that should work on that. It is  small enough to hide somewhere under the seat

+1 That was going to be my suggestion, it should be applied to the back seat. You should still be able to notice the vibration more through your back/tail bone, than the seat of your pants.

Then when you are driving 2 up, your passenger will either be telling you it's time to turn it off, or to drive in circles.

I haven't heard of it being tried, but how about in the back rest instead if you have a tender butt.

I had one in my previous seat, but don't recall it being that violent. Evil

I've moved it to the back of the front seat and its better.

The guy who makes it also has a relay that switches the thing off when you apply the brakes.... that would mean you only get the buzz as you initially enter and then complete the turn - not when waiting at lights or while slowing. I'll be doing that for sure.

Between the two mods (and possibly moving to the back seat as has been suggested) it should be OK. I have to be something because I'm always leaving the blinkers on. Embarrassed

The variable control thing is OK, but I've realised that it would be necessary to apply diodes to the circuit to keep voltage the same for the indicators themselves (otherwise presumably they'd go dim - its a direct circuit - no relay).

I'm no expert so I think I'll just try the first two ideas..

It needs some taming this thing - otherwise its like sitting on a jack hammer. Ow. Embarrassed

I switched to the Signal Minder SM3 cause I needed 4 ways for riding with PGR. I had BB for bout 3 years & mine got weak to where u could barely feel it.

If you check on Rattlebars.com Chet has a wiring diagram for a blinker beeper and also one for doing 4 way flashers that is real simple. I did both my bikes and 9 years later still have not had a problem from them.
