I always thought the batwing fairings sat lower down?  That fairing sure will give an extra level of protection.  Do they come with differnt height clear shields?

Didn't even notice the speedo and tach missing until it was mentioned later.  Good catch and keep us posted.  Thanks.

Really nice job...

If your making your own gauge brackets maybe my experience will help. I used Kuryakyn P-Clamps & 1/8th" aluminum flat stock from the hardware store which I formed, wet sanded & polished.

Wish I had gone your route. Way too much "adaptation" involved with my fairing.

I still need to secure the speedo cable better [higher up the line] 'cause I get instrument movement as the forks compress. I can't focus on it with even a slightly rough road surface..

Here's a shot of the brackets: Sort of...

Hey Jarid - Do you have specifics on what it is off of exactly (i.e. - Electra Glide, Street Glide, etc.) and what year ??  And if you don't me asking what did you have to give for something like that ?? It sure looks good so far - Good Job !!!!

Thanks for all of the comments everyone.Hey sodbuster this is a dragonfly fairing that was purchased for a 2004 Fatboy. It was very easy to fit on the valk,I got it for $500 with stereo/speakers from a co-worker.

Daryl at XF6 Custom makes a relocation kit that includes a longer speedo cable http://www.xf6-custom.com/partpages/tach2.html and it's a quality product  cooldude On those clamps you're using for attaching the fairing to the forks, is there room for an additional clamp on either side in-between the others? I would seriously re-think those current mounts, as they were not designed for a mass anything like what you have on them. If they're the ones I think they are, they're slices of aluminum extrusion and the one half slides into a dovetail in the other, with just the single screw squeezing them together on the other end?

Talk about clutter bars... I like that look.

Is the paint job gonna be one solid color or two-tone? I really want to see her when you get the paint on that fairing.

Great job, BTW!

Good job brother.      If I was into fairings instead of shields, that is the way I'd go.

When I ride with the Batwing, Harley riders wave at me. Might it be that they think the Dragon is a Harley?  Sad laugh 2funny

Late to the party... but what a great install.  I like the thought you put into making sure rain doesn't get into the back...or front as it were...ie; covers for the speakers etc.  Looks great. cooldude

+1 on the HD riders waving when you have a batwing fairing. But then again, there are so many HD riders out there it's hard to know why they are waving.

jarid, very nice work!

Nice job on fairing Jarid!!! I also like the Harley fairing as more options for windshields, mirrors and other items. and the Harley wave is fun especially when they finally see that massive chrome motor.
Hey Full_Throttle  been considering those mirror's you have just wasn't sure they would give as good visibility how do like them? and was also looking at the Kuryakyn with the built in turn signal that mounts to the windshield trim.

I really like the mirrors, I don't have to move my head at all to look out of them.  It is CLOSE to being partially blocked by the bars, but I can see out of them just fine.
