Gang, I may or may not be able to ride on Friday now, I was rear-ended in the Exploder and I have to deal with their insurance company and my sore back before I know for sure. Mary's powerchair carrier took the brunt of the damage and the ramp was knocked off of the carrier and smashed up the back of the car and broke one of the taillights. His truck looks way worse than my Exploder does.

Hope you are OK Thanks Jimmy, just a little sore It wasn't an old codger in a silver F-250 PowerStroke 4x4, was it??? Nope, a young man in an F-150 BTW, Christbiker's son is a chiropractor. Good to know, I may need him to work out some kinks. I was rear-ended in the Exploder and I have to deal with their insurance company The adjuster said the insurance company will probably total it. Heavy sigh! I got 12 good years out of that Explorer.

Unless we can't see the damage.... I can't see how it will be totalled... More pics? The carrier is definitely totalled. I can take some tomorrow. The problem is the age of the vehicle and the cost of a new carrier brings the repair total to 80% of the vehicles trade-in value. I'll have to wait for the insurance companies decision but I'll probably buy it back, fix it myself, and use it as a trainer car for Misty since she is getting close to a driver's license.

Houdini -
Hope it's only a sore back and glad to hear you weren't seriously hurt. Sad to hear about the Explorer being damaged - it was barely broken in!
As for the ride, working on a kitchen pass. I might be able to combine this with a visit to one of our work sites before the ride.

Yep. Utterly shameless. As a moderator on the Texas board I can't imagine letting a member in good standing mention his/or his families business interests in a shameless plug like the one above for DISC Chiropractic located in Prosper, accepting new patients and can be reached at 972-346-4501, discchiropractic.com. You might even be able to stop there on your way to Clarksville to visit The Cupola on the Historic Clarksville Square, 131 North Locust Street, Clarksville, Texas 75426, to pick up some cool art for Christmas gifts on the ride this Saturday...

I could not agree more about such shameless plugs. Like posting Larry Hamberlin, D.C. practices at 401 N Ann St Terrell, TX. Chiropractors diagnose and treat common spinal misalignments that can occur from lifestyle or injuries causing pain, discomfort and degenerative conditions.
Larry Hamberlin, D.C. may be able to treat; back pain, sciatica, neck pain, shoulder pain, headaches, sports injuries, and work-related injuries.
To learn more, or to make an appointment with Larry Hamberlin, D.C. in Terrell, TX, please call (972) 524-5132 for more information. That would be utterly, completely shameless.

Yeah, I really stepped on my dingus (is that a medical term?) on that one and it has nagged at me all day.
So, to hopefully open the door to a more descriptive explanation of why we haven't seen nearly enough of Doc lately, he's been enrolled in classes that will expand the his accreditation to include MD (right?) along with his DC. He's teased us with alternative definitions of words like "apron" and shielded us from the gross-out factors of working in various clinics around the metroplex. Doc, please chime in and tell us what you've been up to, how it is all going, what new areas of expertise you have, and when it will finally be over. (but you might wait to share the gross stuff until everyone has gotten tired of turkey & dressing and all the fixins)

Met up with Houdini at Starbucks around 9:35 and we sat and drank coffee until about 10:20 but as no one else came, we decided to go ahead with the ride that Houdini had routed. And it was a very good route. Lots of twisties, 30mph sweepers with switchbacks and rides through small towns with at least 2 speedtraps directly after the speed limit changed from 60 to 35mph! We did find an interesting (i.e. brown pants) place in one of the sweepers where the road had been repaired somewhat unsuccessfully, leaving a two step drop at the apex. The car tires and their extra traction really helped as we were able to get on the brakes and not leave the road in the middle of the turn! Houdini did perform a very commendable escape out of that particular situation and since he was leading, I had time to react. The weather was perfect for riding. As we arrived in Paris, I punched up restaurants on the GPS and found The Depot, which was the old train station at the end of Main Street. We went there and it was a pretty neat place. Original floors and the grub was good - $6.99 for chopped steak, mashed taters, green beans, the drink and homemade pie. Both Chuck and I chose the German chocolate cream pie - ummmmm, gooooooood! After eating, we decided we had better get back to town before the rain started, so skipped on Daniel's kind invitation to visit Clarksville and headed directly back to Dallas on 82 and 121. A very good route, great day to be riding and many thanks to the Prez for leading this ride. Looking forward to the next one! RainMaker

I firmly believe that the Falken improved my handling of that curve and me and the GY TT would not have handled it so well. The main characteristic I disliked about the TT was it's habit of following those drop-offs and the Falken doesn't exhibit the same behavior. It was a great day for a ride, thanks for joining me RM.
