Hopefully, I’m going to get my trailer painted this winter or early next spring (if I decide to do it myself!) I have a Pearl Silver & Black Standard w/LytherLyke bags, Clearview Shield.  I’m trying to decide what do with the paint on the trailer. It’s currently a dark maroon with pin striping. My 'fallback' position is just a solid black that will match part of the bike, but I’m trying to figure out how to incorporate some Pearl Silver.

So, I’m hoping to get some ideas – maybe see some pictures – of people with two-tone trailers so I can see how you put the second color on. Thanks!

Somebody posted about their trailer paint recently.  They two-toned matched it to their green and silver Interstate.  Can't find the thread right now, but it's in here somewhere.

AND WERE DID I LEAVE MY KEYS!!  Grin Grin

that paint idea would be nice.  been thinking of making a single wheel trailer for the last two years, wondering if i should match the paint to the saddlebags.  of course it would need plenty of LED's on it!! i want to make my trailer big enough to put my golf clubs bag in it, i use to golf a lot, and nothing would be more fun then to go for a cycle ride, pull out the clubs and wack off a few holes.

Here is how my 1999 Escapade trailer is painted currently.  it matched my 99 IS paint perfectly.  Just a couple of views to give you some ideas.

Here's mine. I painted it useing Dupli-color's paint shop Red and White/pearl clearcoat. It's a perfectly close enough match to fool anybody.......Almost.

How about a base coat of Black, and then fog in Silver shadow flames.   Then clearcoat everything so it don't fade and or try to chip off.

I had a 86 SEi Goldwing in the off tan/cream/brown color scheme.

My buddy who is a auto body repair man, he painted my trailer I hauled behind it, the base color of the SEi, then added the ghost flames in silver metal flake, clear coated it with 5 coats.   It still looked real good after many many miles on it behind 3 bikes.    Finally got tired of it and sold it.  It was an Escalade, had that firkin hump down the middle of it.   Tought to load properly.

This is not the bike, but it was this same exact color.

I'm facing the same dilema with a used Bushtec trailer I just got.  1) Painting a trailer to match YOUR bike is definately cool.   2) Painting a trailer gloss black is definately neutral, and if you ever sell it, then it is much more neautral to a wider segment of the MC population.
I'm considering painting the trailer black and use pinstripeing to pick up the color contrast.  And if you have a bra made for the trailer, you could incorperate some of the bikes color in the bra, while still leaveing the trailer solid black.

I'd have to agree with RJ about the base black with some silver ghost flames, or pin-striping ..more appeal to others when it's time to peddle it...however if you never want to sell it and will it to your kiddies,,,paint it like you like it, lol..
