Drive shaft info please

I am contemplating extending the rear of my 97 by 3 inches. I haven't yet pulled everything apart and am finding it difficult to get an image of the basic shaft itself. The fiches I have are no help.
I got this, of a 1500 'wing assembly, is ours similar and has anyone stripped one completely down?
Any pics or experience would be most welcome.

The yoke side is correct, but the Valk doesn't have a universal on the other end, that is where the drive shaft plugs into the pinion cup.

On the earlier wings (pre-1997) the drive shaft is 1-1/2" longer than the Valk shaft. Splines front (u-joint) & rear (cup) are identical. The tension spring is also the same on both shafts.

The shaft pictured looks like it came from a trike.
