Hey it'll fit.......trust me.  Uninflated of course.

Take a minute and do the "nut cage mod" on the inside of the fender.  If your not familiar with what I'm talking about, run a search or just ask and someone will point you to the instructions.

yea Carl, the car tire does look huge when off the bike....i have the same size tire as you, (GYTT).
It will fit, you may have to do nut cage mod.
I didn't know if I would need to do the nut cage mod or not, so while tire was off I went ahead and did it just in case while had easy access.

As Fudd said, let most of the air out before trying to install. Makes it narrower through the sidewalls. Get it up in the general location and push the axle all the way through and into the left frame hole without trying to install the brake or spacer. Then you have the wheel in place and have two hands free to engage the splines in the final drive. It will still take some wrasslin' but easier with two hands and not having to hold the wheel up at the same time. After it's all seated to the right into the final drive, then pull the axle out only just to the edge of the left side of the wheel. That gives enough room to install the spacer and brake.

It will work fine, I ran a 215/60/17 on the rear of my custom.  Now that is big.

Experiment with your tire pressure.    Start at like 42 and drop it a couple of #'s and try it again.     Repeat this procure until you get a nice soft controllable ride.  Mine is 36# for my fat ass.   My son and his bride we run it about 33#.  He is 150 and she is 98 fully clothed and dripping wet......

If ya get the tire too fat, you will wear out the center tread.    All of the tread should hit the ground in a straight line.

Play with your braking procedure, it will be different.

Enjoy the CT.     I'm on my 3rd GYTT.  Get right at 42K out of them.

Be sure and pull the rear end down at like 12 to 15K for a check look see of the splines and to make sure they got plenty of grease.   Change the 3 'O' rings while you are in there...............

Also, if you happen to grab a whole lot of throttle on take off, you will not get any tire spin now, unless you have a blower, blower will lite them up, up to about a 60 MPH and ya grab WOT.

Hey Carl , just like RJ said , work with the tire pressure with your weight and two up ... myself I ride 36 lbs. solo because of my full-figureness , 38 lbs with the wifey in the cold months because they will air down , my front tire always runs 40 lbs year -round ... in the summer I run 34 lbs. solo and 36 two up because I have seen the C/T will expand up to 40 lbs here in Texas easy .... If I get up to 40 lbs , I noticed a harder ride and the tire has a little belly to it and to me it feels squirrely around curves just my .02 cents ... thats just the hit & miss when using a C/T... I'll never use a C/T again ... my tire is a Michelin Pilot 205-55-16 with 23,000 miles + and still looks new ... so enjoy Carl the Dark side ... Thanks the Geezer crazy2
