Well my littlle brother and I made the trip to TN to check out BigAl's bike that was listed here in the classifieds. Needless to say leaving at 4:00am for the 800 mile round trip and $275 in diesel was worth the trip......we made it back home right at 9:00pm. A long day but a good one Al taking his last ride: Tucked in for the 7 hour drive back home: The diesel freight train: Gonna be nice out today but I have a family get together for thanksgiving :'( Brian.....Dragon Slayer 129

Well I should say that the whole way down it was in a 20mph headwind we were bucking. According to the lie-o-meter on the whole 800 mile trip it averaged 14.3mpg....not to bad for pulling hills and against the wind.
Guess I forgot the truck wasn't full when I left that was another $75 to fill her up so take that off the total fuel expense.
Yeah I would have ridden home but from 4am till 9pm made for a long day and the traffic wasn't the greatest in cincy or dayton. Oh well that's probably the last time that bike will see the inside of a trailer anyway. I plan to ride the snot out of it next summer and maybe a little yet this fall if we get a few nice days in the upper 40's

I get this lump in my throat like my dog died. Hey Slayer, go take a good country ride so you can clear your head of all these "truck expenses, and mpg stuff." Riding that Valk will make that it all disapear like last night's dreams.

Slayer is a good guy and his buddy Anthony that came with him is kinda quiet but comes out of his shell when the dealin starts.
He got a good bike.
Even with the two very small dings and the numerous scratches from the hard bag curb feelers.
The bike looked pretty awsome.
All three of us saw it was evident all or part of the bike had been repainted.
But hey it's 11 years old and still rollin.
They thought it was awesome how the Valk Motor could roll down to 20 mph in 5th and pull away cleanly.
Someone show him the nickel trick so he can impress his buddies.
Pleasure doing business with you Slayer.
I would ride with you anywhere, remember you have to go on one of Smokin Joe's rides with us sometime.

Hey Al what is the deal with the led light on the left pod under the fog light switch? It goes from green most of the time to red every once in a while. The only thing I could figure out just off the top of my head it was a volt watch of some sort. As the rpm's drop it goes from green to yellow to red nad then back to green as the rpms come back up. This is when you are warming the bike up (and remember to turn the gas back on ) that the led changes colors. Just curious

SLayer that light is a mystery.
Meant to tell you about that light.
It absolutley means nothing to me.
No function whatsoever to that light.
That means it will run no matter what the color is.
SO maybe one day we will know what that thing means.
Keep in touch.

Great bike! You will be very happy with that one. I have dealt a couple of times with Big Al on bikes. I can buy his bikes all day long without a test ride and know I did good. Al and the rest of the "Wild Bunch" take care of their stuff better than anyone I know. P.S. Big Al beat me to that bike by just a few hours

Yep this is my first valk and I think it's a keeper Been looking for an I/S for the last few months and have ridden a couple before deciding on Al's bike. Sure it's got a few miles on it but I'd rather have a ridden bike verses a low mileage garage parked showpiece with carb problems.

I'm sure it was ridden a lot and well taken care of. I'm just curious to see what Al has up his sleeve next.
