I think what you are looking for is back of the dragon.  It goes from tazwell, va to marion, va.  The road is actually VA16 and is a twisty section 32 miles long.

Hope that helps,

The Devil's Backbone is actually called the Back of the Dragon,it's only about 10 miles from our home, it is Va. 16 once considered the most dangerous road in Va.....this past year they started promoting it as the backbone to increase tourist's in the area...it has always been a popular motorcycle road, but a well kept secret....they are still getting the promotional stuff together and are continuing to get it all together...this year they had 2 different rallies, one in Marion and the other in Tazewell, both drew a lot of bikes....come check it out and if you do give us a holler and we'll hook up..... cooldude

VA SR 16 between Marion, VA and Tazewell, VA is 32 miles of FUN!

It has been a well kept secret with local riders for many years.

There is a Devil's Backbone in central Texas as well.  I rode it on my BMW when I was attending UT in the 70s.
