Hi!

How do the front master cylinder/lever sets on the GL1800 compare in size to the ones on our Valks? They appear to be smaller when I look at GL1800 master cylinder pics... but it could be an optical illusion...

I ask because I am tinkering on an old school project ... and need to replace the 2 front master cylinders/levers. To get an idea of the size I should get, I have bolted on a Valk front brake master/lever ... IMHO too big for that bike.

The GL1800 ones look great on the pics (black, adjustable, etc). Are they smaller or of a similar size?

Thanks!  Smiley

I believe the more important question you should be asking (other than cosmetics) is the size of the piston....this will directly affect the amount of braking force available to your front brakes.  Do you have a single caliper or two?

Good luck with your project....

I am quite familiar with that info and it isn't what I'm concerned with right now.
Thanks! Wink

I think they're the same size as the covers and accessory switch boxes for one will fit the other.  The optical illusion may come from the fact that the Valk reservoirs have the mirror mounts as part of their structure and the GW reservoirs do not.

Good point. I had not noticed that.
Thank you!

I use the GL1800 adj. levers on both my Valks.

Have to grind off one small tab on the clutch to fit the Valk.  Otherwise, the same, except chrome, and wider, and adjustable!

I'm trying to figure out the size of the whole set-up (master + lever) in order to see if it is too bulky for this old school bike.
I'm hoping to measure one on a fellow riders bike tonight.
Thanks!
