I havent been active with the VRCC in a loooong while but i figured this might be of some interest to yall.

A few weeks ago I was on my way to work (about the only place I ever get to go these days) on the Valk. I was running a little late so I was running a little faster than normal. On a  recently repaved backroad I went pretty hard into a left hand curve. The curve had a bit of a rise then a dip. As I come off the rise and into the dip my suspension bottomed out causing my kickstand bracket to drag through the asphalt for about 18" or so. It bent the frame right where the kickstand bracket bolts up.

Most everytime I've ever heard of someone damaging the frame it was considered totalled. I went ahead and located a new bike and began looking for a plane ticket. To my surprise, my insurance company contacted me to let me know they would be replacing the frame.

I never would have imagined that they would have wanted to put that kind of money into a 14 year old bike with 115,000 miles, a LOT of rust on some of my aftermarket chrome and blatently obvious that I haven't even washed it in over a years worth of daily riding. These Valkyries really hold their value.

Glad you're OK... here's some cool pictures of BigBF fixing a bent crossmember...
