I have a 1998 Tourer that I have the cobra light bar on the front with what I believe are the 4.5 inch driving lamps installed. The color of the driving lamps when on is more of an incandesant yellow color as opposed to the white light of the head light. Is there a 4.5 inch driving light that offers a more white color light as opposed to the yellowish color lamp that I presently run?

Had similar problem on my 97. Part of the problem, i think is that they are 35 watt sealed beams. The other part, which helped me greatly was check all the connections and make sure they are tight. To improve things, I ran them thru a relay which gave me a major boost in light output.  They are still incandescent "yellow" but they are much brighter than before.

Some people have switched to a new Cobra light.  It is Cobra 04-9002.  HDL does have them for about $53 each.  Supposed to be brighter and use less power.

Those sealed beam lights are weak on the output. I've converted at least four sets of driving lights from the sealed beams to the Adjure diamond cut Ice lights. Be sure to get the "diamond cut Ice" version reflector.  That reflector has the same design as the Valk OEM headlight  which looks kinda nice, but the reflector in the Adjure makes a huge difference. They're not a sealed beam lamp so you can simply replace the bulb instead of the entire lamp, similar to the headlight method. And, using a 35w bulb in the Adjure gives you much more light output than the 35w sealed beam. Get them off the internet at http://www.powersportparts.net/

They're about $20 less a set from there than anywhere else. Another warning, if you want to go to the Adjure website don't just type in Adjure.com....you get a porn site. That was a bit of a surprise when I first went looking. The Adjure site is: www.Adjureinc.com  so be sure to add the "inc" at the end or you get a totally different form of "headlights."

Mr. Schmidt, thanks for the information. Will the adjure light assemblies fit in the same buckets as the 4.5 inch sealed beams that I currently have? Do they wire up the same? I looked them up on the web and they are very nice looking lights and if they afford more light output that would be even better.

Go to 1000bulbs.com and get their number. The Cobra bulbs are a PAR 36 sealed beam. 1KBulbs has many choices. I changed mine to a 36 Watt halogen bulb. I got a dozen bulbs with shipping for $5.50 per bulb. Sold the extras to friends. MUCH brighter.

In a word....yes.  I believe you have to change the push on connectors but that's about all.

Thanks for all the info. Sandy, do you remember which bulb you ended up using? I went on the site for 1000bulbs and for the PAR 36 bulbs there are many choices. One thing I am not sure of is the "Beam Angle" that is listed for each bulb. Is that related to the pattern of the light emitted? Are all the PAR 36 bulbs the 4.5inch? Sorry for the many questions but I am light bulb illiterate. I will probably try just bulbs first as it is close to the holidays and money is in short commodity these days and the bulbs are much less expensive than the light assemblies right now. Thanks for all your help.

Keep in mind, with a set of new Adjure lights it comes with the bulbs installed. Think I paid $70 for the pair from the company I gave a link to.
