Brilliant way to use ski mountains during the summer.  Although if those rails are in the runs, even 4 feet down, my ski tips will find them.

That looks like a lot of fun... Lots of nice twisties going down the mountain.  He must have been strapped in cuz he looked back at his dad a few times at a turn and I thought he was going to be thrown out. Shocked coolsmiley   Pretty cool.

Years ago I rode one of those in Canada.  It was great until the rider in front slowed down and held everyone up.  So a second ride was needed.  And man that was very fast!  Both rides were worth it.

This could be made better if you had the option to lay on your stomach and go down head first like on a sled.  I'd also like to see how they get the cars back up to the  top of the mountain.

I rode a couple of the concrete ditch alpine slides here in New England ( ("I'm sure these have been engineered so that you won't go flying off the track", she said, pompously.) That was shortly before she left the track right after successfully negotiating a sharp turn and overcompensating while straightening out...). They were a lot of fun, but this looks like a lot more fun, and I'll bet it's been engineered so that you won't go flying off the tube!

There is a fiberglass luge in Bryce mountain ski resort in Va. You kind sit, kind lay on you back with a handle in between your legs. Push forward go faster, pull back is the brake. There are two tracks side by side there. When I was a kid, my uncle and I would race down. Be warned, you sign a release for injury because there is a possibility of you flying off in the turns if you are going too fast and don't use your worthy properly. But otherwise, awesome ride.

First time We (Dad, Myself and 3 others) went to Gatlinburg (1993?), took the tram up the mountain to Ober Gatlinburg, Ski resort. The lift tram is right near the main street. They had dueling "Alpine Slides"... the fiberglass and concrete track l think....... like Dogg talked about.... You don't want to have 2 LARGE- 200lbs plus-motorcycle guys racing each other ....... 2nd run down we both decided that the brake really wasn't necessary...... and it wasnt .......until the 3 curve or so...... Got tossed off and tumbled a bit.. worst part was the track rubbing a hole through my jeans in a nano second.....

I still have a scar on my knee and wrist from the track.... and they put REALLY big bandages on at the 1st aid area to make you look like a schmuck Angry...   We did pay for 3 rides and the last one went a bit slower...

Never rode them again because the Slick tracks in Pigeon Forge were more fun!

It's called an Alpine Slide. We have several of them here in the US including one in Attitash, NH (that I'm not sure is still there). Attitash does have a mountain coaster though.
