I am taking my son out this weekend on a toys for tots run, and got him a HJC helmet with J&M headset.

I have a Nolan N103 W/ J&M headset

My question is how do we talk to each other through the headsets.

I have the passenger talk switch installed, but it doesn't seem to do anything.
I plugged in both helmets, and set the audio to the helmet icon in the display

It kinda feels like the mics are in the open position without pressing the talk switch
I had one helmet on my head and scratched the mic foam in the other helmet, and i could hear the scatching in my helmet. Are they open so the rider and passenger can talk to each other?
Is the Passenger talk switch only for CB transmissions

Do I need to set it to CB?

Any input is appreciated
Thanks Paul

mics are open all the time..the push to talk switch for the passenger is for cb operation only.. audio does not need set to helmet display unless you want the stereo or the cb coming into the helmets..if you toggle threw i think the audio switch you'll see you can set your volumm accordingly for the headsets. it will go from 1 to 20..i normally run mine on 18.

Press the "V-Mode" button until it ONLY shows the little headset icon on the display, then use the volume paddle to set the volume... as 3W said, from 1 to 20.

The higher you set the volume the more wind noise you get in your ears.
