Hey Joe : Couldn't make it on your Key West ride a few years back 'though I wanted to . Now I have the urge to go & would like to head up a ride. Question is where is the bast site to go to in order to learn about Key West area? ie: lodging for up to 16 folks now interested in going, things to do /see while there, what not to miss? that kind of thing. Hoping you can help me out with what you may have learned back then>?  Thanks alot Joe  c-ya  --  Rick in NC !!!!!!
PS : thinking about the 2nd week in May !!

I'm not Joe but I've been to KW a few times.

Be prepared to see some, uhh... "odd" things. Like don't be surprised if the person working the checkout at the grocery store is the spitting image of Cher but also has an Adam's apple.

Two things I really enjoyed while I was there was a guided tour of the mangroves in kayaks and we rented a boat and did some fishing. I caught a record (for the month of July) Barracuda. I was hoping for something edible but no luck. Another neat thing was going to the pier on the southeast end of White Street and watching the hundreds of giant Tarpin playing under the sodium lights.

The only time I've been to the Keys, I flew into Miami. If I had to ride all the way across the state of Florida
on roads like the ones I took from Miami, I'd rather not go.

I bet there's Florida riders who know roads that carry you across "The Real State Of Florida"
that could make it a nice ride...

Yes and bring your gun. I will not go to Miami without one.

For that matter, KW has a couple of sketchy neighborhoods you can accidentally wander into.
